The title of 'Total Capture' is the translation to English of 'Capture Total', the name of an asortiment of health care products - against aging skin - of the brand 'Dior'. The name of the product refers to a full admission of the product by the skin. The word 'Capture' means as wel in french as in English 'recording' in a photographic meaning. The title refers also to the photographic experiment that laid to the foundation of the work. The name 'Capture Totale' gave rise to a perfect coincidence, this pun, which is already rich in associations. These commercial images are not only chosen for this reason, they also offer a number of image qualities that the final work brings to a certain load. Starting point of the work was the fact that the face of the 'model' has just to be treated as a 'saint-portrait' or 'icon'. Sharon Stone is treated as a sacred image or icon, hence the reference to the panels of a medieval diptych or tryptych. Another aspect is the performance, the deed that produces the work. The gripe with the fist into the paper can be understand as a protest, as a mechanical form of photoshop or other manipulation programs, as a deed, irreversible. But also as a gest that the image, is shown a million times on exactly the same manner can also be seen as a flattening or an idealization of reality. In one single moment it becomes hyperindividual and unrepeatable and in that way really beautiful. The images reminds also to kubism.
